Charting the fate of the Weimar Republic

From the outset of its creation, the Weimar Republic was challenged by political extremists. To make matters worse, in January 1923, Germany couldn't keep up with its reparation payments to France and defaulted (failed to pay).

France retaliated by invading its most important industrial area, the Ruhr, which contained over 80% of Germany’s steel production. The French thought they could take over this valuable steel production to make up for the reparations Germany had missed.

However, the workers in the Ruhr refused to work for the French and a strike was ordered to halt the forceful extraction of wealth from the region. In response, the Weimar Government supported the wages of striking workers by printing more money. This led to mass hyperinflation, making money increasingly worthless (below: children playing with blocks of worthless notes).

I would like you to download the file 'Charting the fate of the Weimar Republic' and complete the tasks.
