    Whilst a lot of your learning in A Level PE will come from key AQA Specification-relevant content, it is important that we stretch our understanding and develop our passion for PE, sports science and performance. Maybe there is some content within our specification that really interests you but you want to find out more?

    Below we have a range of further resources that may be of interest to you. Enjoy!

    • What could I watch?

      Documentaries:

      Icarus (Netflix) - Documentary movie that explores the effects of doping in amateur cycling

      Dan Carter: The Perfect 10 (Amazon Prime) - Documentary into the life and career of all-black legend  - the psychology of a winner, dealing with injury and pressure

      Television series/shows:

      The Test (Amazon Prime) - Series following the Australia cricket team following the ball tampering scandal through to the world cup - team cohesion, leadership methods, anxiety in front of crowds

      The Least Expected Day: The Movistar Team (Netflix) - A behind-the-scenes series inside the Movistar professional cycling team through the summer of 2019. A team with 3-4 big name riders with plenty of pressure on them - how do they cope? are the relationships amongst the team-members strong enough to cope with the stresses of professional cycling when things don't go their way?

      Podcasts:

      "Don't tell me the score" : We've already seen this in Sport Psychology above. A great show with some wonderful interviews about sport psychology

      "Experts in Sport": a podcast run by the staff from Loughborough University. It covers a huge range of topics and the content is very accessible to an A Level pupil. It is a great option in giving you a flavour of sports science from one of the nations leading universities for Sports and Exercise Science courses.

      Snippit Sports Science - Australian podcast where two sports scientists discuss research into sports science. Really short episodes (10-20mins) covering a broad array of topics, particularly training.

      The Science of Sport Podcast - Lots of different areas of sport discussed on these episodes such as sports trainer technology, why the All Blacks are the greatest ever team, drugs in sport etc

      The Sport Psych Show - As the title suggests, the episodes delve into areas of sport psychology such as mental resilience, decision making, mental reheasal etc
