    Physical Education Content

    The paper will be split into three sections:

    A)      Anatomy and Physiology:

    • Cardiovascular
    • Respiratory
    • Musculo-skeletal and movement analysis
    • Neuromuscular
    • Energy Systems

    B)      Skill Acquisition

    • Skill, continuums and transfer of skills
    • Skill classification and structure of practice
    • Principles & theories of learning
    • Use of guidance and feedback

    (Information Processing will not be included)

    C)      Sport and Society

    • Emergence of the globalisation of sport in the 21st Century

    - Pre industrial (pre 1780)

    - Industrial and Post industrial (1780-1900)

    - Post WWII (1950-present)

    • The impact of sport on society and of society on sport

    - Sociological theory applied to equal opportunities

    The Format:

    Each section will be 35 Marks. MCQ's, short answer questions & 2 x 8 mark LAQ per section.
