How did Hitler’s failure in 1923 aid his rise to power by 1933?
Completion requirements
In the last lesson, you watched a dramatisation of the Munich Putsch 1923. Although this event was a failure for the party, it was an important turning point. Not only did Hitler realise the limitations of a violent uprising, he used this event as an opportunity to reflect on his political tactics. His trial gave him a public platform and his messages were reiterated in his book Mein Kampf, which he initially wanted to title Four and a Half Years (of Struggle) Against Lies, Stupidity and Cowardice.
In this lesson, you will consider how the Munich Putsch was successful in its outcomes rather than its events. You will also be introduced to the Hitler's inner circle in the year 1933.
