The Mid A Level Mock Paper 1 will test knowledge of six AQA AS topics by applying them to a range of listening and reading tasks which need regular practice using the Year 12 AS Exam Practice resources on Spanish Moodle.
The Paper 1 Listening, Reading and Writing exam tasks are as follows:
Section A Listening and Writing Tasks (35 marks): 40 minutes advised
Four listening tasks require students to respond to spoken passages from a range of different contexts and sources. Students will have individual control of the recording. Tasks may include true/false, gapfill, synonyms/antonyms and listening comprehension exercises, all of which permit students to use language from the recording in their answers. One of the four listening tasks will be a summary exercise, which requires students to use their own words.
Section B Reading and Writing Tasks (55 marks): 1 hour 5 minutes advised
Students are required to read and respond to a variety of texts drawn from a range of authentic sources. There are five tasks and these may include true/false, gapfill, synonyms/antonyms and reading comprehension exercises, all of which are answered either with non-verbal responses or in Spanish that may be taken from the text. One of the five tasks will be a reading summary task which requires students to use their own words. A final, sixth task is a translation from Spanish into English of a minimum of 70 words.
