The story starts with the background to 1066, as you should know where the conflict originated from. There are a series of worksheets looking at the contenders, from filling in tables to campaign speeches. There is a good DVD on William but this is relatively long so worth dipping into. You need to know how the Witan chose the new king, and you will take part in decision-making exercises on this. The cartoon strip worksheets on Bayeux will give you a first chance to work with primary source material.
